“Bright World of Metals” from 12 to 16 June 2023 in Düsseldorf
The countdown is on – companies from all over the world can register for the trade fair quartet comprising GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST . These leading international trade fairs, featuring a conference and a high-calibre supporting programme for foundry technology, cast products, metallurgy and thermal process technology, will take place in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023.
New technologies, rising demands for energy efficiency and the desire to use resources sparingly: the transformation taking place across the entire industrial value chain is also affecting the global foundry, metallurgy and thermal engineering sectors. How can companies produce sustainably and efficiently? How can plants be better networked, production processes optimised, whilst also fulfilling their social responsibilities? What technological upheavals are taking place in the various sectors of the metal industry? How can the foundry and metalworking industries remain attractive to the next generation of professionals compared to other sectors of the economy? These and other questions will be discussed by industry experts at GMTN 2023, the world’s leading communication platform.
“Our quartet of trade fairs is widely recognised as the gateway to the global market. All exhibitors who place particular emphasis on environmental aspects such as resource conservation, energy efficiency and carbon neutrality in their innovations are welcome to take part in the campaign. These topics are of particular interest to trade visitors, which naturally also applies to the next generation of professionals—who are so vital to the sectors. Through our trade fairs, we can therefore also make a contribution towards addressing the shortage of skilled workers,” says Friedrich-Georg Kehrer with regard to the upcoming events.
Plant, products, forward-looking solutions and concepts relating to foundries, the iron, steel and non-ferrous metals industries, the machinery supply sector, mechanical engineering and the automotive industry: every four years, companies showcase their offerings at the trade fairs held in Düsseldorf. GIFA – THE platform for networking and business since 1956
GIFA, the 15th International Foundry Trade Fair with Technical Forum, looks back on a long tradition within Düsseldorf’s trade fair portfolio. Since 1956, it has played a significant role in the industry as a global communication platform. In 2019, it not only achieved outstanding results (980 exhibitors from 46 countries, around 45,597 trade visitors from 127 countries), but also showcased a veritable fireworks display of innovations. The event focused, amongst other things, on major themes such as ‘additive manufacturing’ and ‘Industry 4.0’. GIFA 2023 will once again cover virtually the entire global range of products and services in the fields of foundry and melting plant, refractory technology, plant and machinery for mould and core production, moulding materials and moulding supplies, sand preparation and regeneration, gating and feeding technology, casting machines, pouring, trimming, post-treatment of green castings, pattern and mould making, control systems and automation, environmental protection and waste disposal, and information technologies. In 2019, international trade visitors travelled to GIFA in Düsseldorf primarily from India, Italy, China, Turkey, Japan, France, Russia, Spain, Austria and South Korea.
METEC – International metallurgy trade fair with the ESTAD congress
METEC is a permanent fixture in the trade fair quartet – and this marks its eleventh appearance. Equipment for the production of pig iron, steel and non-ferrous metals is showcased, as are systems for casting or shaping steel, and equipment and components for smelting works, rolling mills and steelworks. With over 17,820 visitors (66 per cent of whom were from abroad) and 618 exhibitors from 39 countries, the most recent METEC also set new records.
THERMPROCESS – innovative thermal process technology at the 13th International Trade Fair and Symposium
THERMPROCESS can look back on an even longer tradition than METEC: since 1974, this international trade fair and symposium has been a benchmark for innovative thermal process technology. Technological trends and solutions relating to the manufacture and use of industrial furnaces and heat-generating systems provide visitors with a wealth of information. Its range of products and services includes industrial furnaces, industrial heat treatment systems and thermal processes, systems for specialised applications, components and equipment, as well as operating and auxiliary materials, health and safety, and ergonomics. 5,923 trade visitors – more than half of whom were from abroad – and 337 exhibitors from 34 countries shaped the atmosphere in the exhibition halls.
NEWCAST – everything in casting
NEWCAST, the 6th International Trade Fair for Casting Products, has been rounding off Düsseldorf’s trade fair quartet since 2003. As the world’s leading trade fair for cast products, it is the highlight of its sector every four years, with positive results (2019: 3,404 visitors, 67 per cent of whom were from abroad, and 433 exhibitors from 32 countries). The range of applications for cast products extends from vehicle manufacturing and the aerospace industry, through mechanical and plant engineering, to medical technology.
The international quartet of trade fairs – GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST – is accompanied by a varied supporting programme featuring numerous seminars, international congresses, symposia and lecture series.
