Expansion and modernisation of the Fritz Winter production facility in Stadtallendorf

Fritz Winter Eisengießerei GmbH & Co. KG is consistently investing in future-proof production: at its headquarters in Stadtallendorf, the production line is currently undergoing extensive expansion and modernisation. A key element of this programme is the supply of a total of around two dozen pneumatic conveying systems of the type SP-HL by KLEIN Anlagenbau AG.

Energy-efficient conveying with SP-HL technology

The robust SP-HL conveyors are in use worldwide and are characterised by continuous, particularly gentle material handling. Thanks to their sophisticated design and optimised flow guidance, they reduce wear and tear on the plant and lower energy consumption – by up to 50 per cent over long conveying distances compared with conventional pressure vessel systems. In doing so, they make a significant contribution to the foundry’s cost-effectiveness and environmental performance.

Working together towards ‘green production’

Fritz Winter and KLEIN are using this project to send a joint message in support of resource efficiency and environmental protection. The new systems

• minimise dust emissions and ensure compliance with strict air quality regulations,
• reduce waste materials such as residual dust,
• and noticeably lower operational energy consumption.

This makes production not only more efficient but also significantly more sustainable.

Centralised binder logistics for the new core-making plant

Alongside the conveyor system, the newly constructed core-making plant was equipped with a fully integrated binder unloading, storage and supply system from KLEIN Anlagenbau. At the heart of the plant are:

• an unloading bay for silo lorries,
• two double-walled 30-m³ storage tanks for the binder components,
• redundantly designed, also double-walled supply lines with leak monitoring to the core production cells.

The consistent use of dual systems for all tank- and pipework-based systems ensures maximum environmental and operational safety – an absolute necessity given the strict site regulations.

By investing in modern pneumatic conveying technology and highly reliable binder logistics, Fritz Winter is continuing its successful collaboration with KLEIN Anlagenbau. The result: a significantly more efficient material flow, noticeably lower operating costs and a further step towards a climate-friendly foundry.
