Dewatering Screen

Dewatering screens were basically developed for the sand dewatering, and now they are used in nearly every industry e.g. iron ore or coal processing.

The basic movement of dewatering screen is linear with horizontal mounting or upward inclination. With a high angle of attack and high acceleration, extremely low residual moisture values can be achieved. Based on the low conveying speed a high product layer will be created at the screen deck end, this gives an additional dewatering effect.

Flip-Flow Screen TOPCILLA

TOPCILLA combines the advantages of two different screening principles in one machine. The successfully proven JOEST 3D Finger cascade screen TopSpin on the upper deck and the unique JOEST flip-flow screen OSCILLA on the lower deck. A key application is the processing of recycling materials, such as MSW and commercial waste, C & D, scrap metal, waste incineration slag, packaging waste and other heterogeneous material mixes.

TOPCILLA is a combination screen. The upper screen deck is usually a finger cascade screen TopSpin with self-cleaning screen surfaces. For certain applications any other screen deck type from finger screens to panels can be used on the top deck. Each screen opening is open in conveying direc­tion, similar to a finger screen. The 3D surface has a tapered surface which guides the material. By superposition of screen movement and screen lining a constant self-cleaning is guaranteed.

The lower deck is the flip-flow screen OSCILLA.

OSCILLA works with leaf springs between the two oscillating frames. This enables very large relative amplitudes and very high acceleration values of more than 50 G-forces. There is also a fine tuning by the number of leaf springs for every ap­plication.

The high flexibility in the leaf spring tuning guarantees, that the optimum oscillation condition can be achieved easily for the two different screen decks.

The upper TopSpin screen needs a large circular motion, whereas the lower flip-flow screen requires large relative amplitude.

Circular Motion Screen

JOEST circular motion screens are worldwide used for the pre- or final classification of free flowing, slightly sticking and coarse grained bulk material. The typical character of this screen is a circular movement. Executed with an inclination angle between 10 to 30° the optimum throughput for almost every application can be achieved.

The decks can be executed either with perforated plate, polyurethane or wire cloth increasing the areas of applications. Cleaning devices can be installed below the screening cloth to avoid screen blinding when screening under difficult conditions. Screens are generally fitted with an impact area directly before the screening section begins, this breaks up the material and causes long parts to lay flat during screening. If necessary cascade steps can be added to flip the material creating even greater separation efficiency. Circular motion screens can be designed with up to three screen decks. Depending on the application and size of the screen the appropriate unbalanced motors, lubricated shaft drives or, for higher loads, oil lubricated exciter cells are available as drive units.
