Achieve far more – with ProSpeed, the next generation sensors for lenght and speed measurements

Precise speed and length measurements are critical for controlling the production of continuous materials,
sheet materials and piece goods. ProSpeed – the next generation LSV Laser Surface Velocimeters – optimize production processes by providing reliable measurements and increase the output worldwide during production of strands, tubes, rails, beams, strips, or coils and in many more production processes in the metals industry. Due to the highly precise, non-contact measurement principle, ProSpeed laser sensors eliminate common problems of traditional contact-wheel measurement methods such as damage to delicate surfaces, slippage and thermal expansion on almost any surface. The optical sensor determines the direction of motion and standstill conditions, with extended stand-off distances of up to 3 m, adding flexibility for measurements under harsh conditions. For additional protection, choose the thermo-protective housing (TPH). The enhanced connectivity of the ProSpeed LSV-2100 ensures transparency – access it anywhere and anytime through the serial interface, the encoder interface, various fieldbus protocols and the web interface, from either stationary or mobile devices.

About us

Company portrait

As a laser technology pioneer, Polytec has offered optical metrology solutions for research and industry since 1967. The high-tech company is based in Waldbronn near Karlsruhe, Germany, and after trading as a distributor in its early years, made a name for itself as a developer of in-house, laser-based measuring instruments in the 1970s. Today laser vibrometers, Systems for surface characterization, analytics and process automation are part of the wide range of in-house developments. Especially the laser surface velocimeters (LSV) by Polytec are used in many processes of the metals industry for reliable and highly precise length and speed measurements.
