indometal 2016’s international representation is indicative of market trends lining Indonesia’s foundry and casting sectors. According to the Indonesian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IISIA), the country’s stainless steel industry could grow aggressively over the next five to seven years as demand from large-scale infrastructure projects, from energy production to transportation links, is forecast to surge.
On Indonesia’s domestic development, its metal-processing industry is on route to greater growth with as many as 63 smelters to be built by 2017, including 40 nickel plants, 10 iron ore smelters and four copper-cathode smelters, according to data from the Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, Mr Gernot Ringling says: “With every edition of indometal, we strive to align the trade fair with the latest industry developments in Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asia region, in expanding its regional footprint.
Expecting to welcome over 8,000 regional trade visitors this year, we seek to grow indometal’s standing as a must-attend event for industrialists to network, explore opportunities, exchange firsthand market insights and harness new growth opportunities set forward by the ASEAN Economic Community.”
Echoing his thoughts is Mrs Rini Sumardi, Director of WAKENI, who shared that, “indometal is honoured to receive the endorsement and validation of key industry associations and partners for another edition – which reaffirms the relevancy of the trade fair for the region’s metal, steel and related industries. For companies with medium and long-term plans of doing business in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, indometal will pave the way for valuable business opportunities and exposure, through a converging, trade-only platform.
On the other hand, local industry players looking to up their business and manufacturing capabilities will benefit from the global expertise and innovations presented on the show floor.”
