Kurtz Ersa has decided to make a significant investment in Mexico. The machine builder is building the new production facility for Ersa soldering machines in Ciudad Juárez (Chihuahua), in the north of the country. The new production facility is scheduled to go into operation in spring 2024.
“Mexico was chosen as the ideal location for this expansion because of its strategic advantages. The central border location offers excellent connectivity and facilitates access to the strong local markets of North and South America. In addition, Mexico has a large number of highly qualified and motivated workers who ensure our high German quality standards in a state-of-the-art plant," explains Albrecht Beck, Managing Director of Kurtz Ersa, Inc.
Initially for Ersa HOTFLOW reflow soldering systems, the new production facility in Ciudad Juárez will play a central role in the production of Ersa soldering machines. It also serves as pre-production for the US Kurtz factory.
Expanded production and increased presence
This not only expands the company's global production capacities, but also strengthens its presence on the American continent. The expansion will create the third largest Kurtz Ersa production site after Germany and China, which will make a significant contribution to the company's global production capacities. In addition to the existing service and logistics centers in Plymouth (Wisconsin, USA) and Guadalajara (Mexico), Juárez will be the third major service and logistics center in the region.
In addition to the expansion, know-how was also transferred from Europe to Mexico, from which Kurtz Ersa customers can benefit locally. With rapid growth in the Americas, the new Chihuahua manufacturing facility will better serve local customers, minimize carbon footprint, shorten delivery times, and lower freight costs.
