Tata Steel installs a new pickling and galvanizing line

Tata Steel has contracted Danieli to supply a new, 700,000-tpy HRPGL line to be installed at its Cold Rolling Complex West, at the Tarapur facility, India, to produce different coated grades and process strips of different thicknesses and widths. The target of the investment is to diversify the portfolio of hot-rolled galvanized products, and at competitive costs. The pickling section, based on Danieli patented Turboflo® technology with advanced turbulent channel, will allow the highest energy savings and process flexibility regardless of strip grade and operational speed. Line commissioning is planned in early 2026.
