Siempelkamp Giesserei in Krefeld also supplies customized castings for the production of die casting cells with a clamping force of 6000 t or more
The demand for giga presses is constantly growing: companies in the fields of plastic injection molding and light metal die casting are developing ever larger and more complex machines in order to meet the increasing requirements of various industries. This development influences the entire value-added chain. Siempelkamp Giesserei in Krefeld, a major manufacturer of extremely thick-walled structural components for high-tech machines, is also aware of these changes.
"Whether aerospace, consumer electronics or the automotive industry - the machines used to manufacture state-of-the-art components are becoming ever larger and more sophisticated. This is also reflected in the increasingly specialized requests from our customers for the necessary structural components," explains Dirk Howe, Managing Director of Siempelkamp Giesserei. "It is our goal and our obligation to always respond to the new requirements of machine manufacturers and to supply customized casting solutions."
A clear example of this development is electromobility. The demand for electric vehicles remains high, driven by the desire for sustainable mobility. Car manufacturers are increasingly relying on highly complex light metal die-cast structures to avoid the assembly of numerous individual parts. This significantly increases efficiency and saves weight, costs and time. However, without the massive structural components from German foundry companies, which can withstand the enormous forces involved, such light metal die-cast solutions would not be possible.
"The impressive plates that are cast in our foundry for highly complex horizontal presses can reach a raw casting weight of over 150 tons. Only with our extremely robust castings are high-tech machines able to form components with a press force of up to 11,000 tons," explains Dr. Georg Geier, also Managing Director of Siempelkamp Giesserei. "With our expertise and know-how in casting, we are actively shaping the future. Our daily drive is therefore also: Vorsprung durch Guss - Casting is our Passion."
