Friedrich KOCKS GmbH & Co. KG has received a further delivery from Fujian Sangang Minguang Group Co., Ltd. (Sanming), Chinese manufacturer of special steels, for a reducing and sizing block. The RSB® 500++/4 in StarDrive design will be part of a new rolling mill complex of the company in Fujian province and will be used for the production of SBQ products for various industries.

Sanming, a state-owned company, was founded in 1958 and is part of the Sangang Group with over 17,000 employees. It is one of the most important steel producers in Fujian Province on the southeastern coast of China and supplies its customers with high-quality SBQ products. The new rolling mill with state-of-the-art equipment and highly modern, automated processes will be used in the future to produce larger size ranges.
The project with a Chinese general contractor provides for the integration of the RSB® 500++/4 as a finished block. Sanming is familiar with Kocks' 3-roll technology from a previous project and trusts in its high precision, efficiency and reliability. The integration into the new rolling mill complex should in turn contribute to significant improvements in the production process.
The StarDrive RSB® 500++/4 is equipped with advanced technology for precise control of the rolling process and the latest software solutions from KOCKS. The finishing block will be installed in an 800,000 t/a rolling mill behind a reversing stand and 10 stands in H/V arrangement. The RSB® will roll here in the dimensional range from Ø 50 to 130 mm. Completion is scheduled for spring 2024.
