Supply of a Silicon Metal Furnace for Simcoa Operations - Tenova Pyromet

In August of 2009, Tenova Pyromet, specialist in the design and supply of submerged arc furnaces and complete smelting plants, was appointed to design a Silicon Metal Furnace for Simcoa Operations (Pty) Ltd, a leading producer of high quality silicon metal based near Bunbury, Western Australia. Six months into the design contract, Simcoa signed a contract with Tenova Pyromet for the supply of the furnace equipment and the technical supervision for the construction and commissioning of the equipment. The smelter plant comprises of a 36 MVA semi-closed submerged arc AC furnace.
