ArcelorMittal donates 1 million USD for victims of the Haiti earthquake

ArcelorMittal, through the ArcelorMittal Foundation, announces a donation of 1 million USD to help the relief efforts in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, following the earthquake that struck the island on Tuesday 12 January. More than 100000 people may have been killed by this 7.0-magnitude earthquake. Tens of thousands are estimated to be in need of urgent assistance. As in previous similiar situations, ArcelorMittal is ready to help. In a first step the Company announced already two days after this natural disaster to support an emergency intervention from the organisation Médecins sans frontières (MSF) in Port-au-Prince. A donation of 100000 USD aims to address the needs of the persons affected by the earthquake.
